Burke County COC

We at AccuForce had such a wonderful time attending the Burke County Chamber of Commerce annual meeting. There were about 150 business owners and professionals who attended the gathering at CoMMA in downtown Morganton, NC. The night was full of local food, music, and networking.

AccuForce is proud to be a member of such a wonderful Chamber. Jerry Davis and Tiffany Poteat work tirelessly to promote not only the businesses, but the entire region. They represent us all well and we’re happy to be a part of it all!

We even made the front page of the News Herald! The photo above is the one that made the paper and below is a snapshot of the Sunday’s edition. Pictured from Left to Right are Jennifer Doble, Kim Muncy, Jana Akers, Yvette Fragile, and April Stephens.

Two years ago we started a quest with an idea of getting training for people in Catawba County that would benefit companies and allow them to be able to hire the trained workers they need. Training would give applicants a head start in a new position with training that is comparable to 6-9 months on the job training before they begin work for a company.

AccuForce partnered with the Catawba County Chamber-Innovate Catawba, and other contributors to host the summit to kick the idea off and gain input from all the local manufacturing companies. Below are some of the results of the training program. AccuForce has been happy to be a part of this from the beginning and we’re very excited to see this come full circle.

It is a proud moment for AccuForce and all the partners that shared the same vision of educating and advancing manufacturing in Catawba County.

A few results:

– There are 21 people signed up for the first Manufacturing Fundamentals Course.

– There are 20 scholarships and are working to get five more. Please spread the word and share if you or any other companies would be interested in sponsoring a scholarship.

– Last night Catawba County Commissioners met and made a proclamation that October 2 is Manufacturing Day in Catawba County. Thanks to those who came out to support Manufacturing! View the Proclamation

Don’t forget to come support the Create Your Future – Manufacturing Showcase Oct 15:30-7:00.

Thanks and we’ll see you Sept 29,  8-9:30 am at CVCC CDC!
